I'm not sure if it's vanilla or modded, but sometimes when I've landed in a desert, I'll see megascarabs roaming around. These are different from the mountain hive ones - they're neutral, and can be tamed, though they do have a high chance to attack the person trying to tame them. Sometimes, very rarely, when you open the danger room cryptosleep caskets, it'll spawn megascarabs. This one's entirely luck-based, but it's the only legitimate, un-modded way that I've found that can be done on an existing save. ![]() Go back into the same screen, select tame animal, click all the scarabs. ![]() ![]() Click the left gear-looking button, select 'spawn pawn', find megascarabs, spawn however many you want. (Optional: Instead of using the edit scenario, you could add animals using prepare carefully, if you have that mod installed.)Ĭheat. But, it'll be an optional challenge to see if you can keep them all alive for the ship launch. The ones you start with are all you'll have, ever. Hit that, select megascarabs, and enter the number you want. Hit the 'add part' button, and look for the animals option. When selecting your starting setup, click the custom scenario button at the bottom, then check 'edit mode' on the left.
